Why do we use this in html

It tells your browser what html version are you using.

it's symbolises that's the code you are writing is on the current html code which is html 5,and also tell the browser what version you are using

it's symbolises about the HTML version you are using like if you wtiiting <html> it means you are using the old version of html but if you use <!DOCTYPE html > it means you are using Html 5😉
