Some facts about the song

The song was released on an album of the same name on November, 30 - a day before Halloween.

Originally, the title was Starlight but it was rejected by the produsor. After considering several possible titles, the best one was found. The songwriter (Rod Temperton) had to rewrite lyrics to suit it.
The narration at the end of the song is performed by a famous horror film actor Vincent Price.
The music video for the song was released in 1983, and is titled Michael Jackson's Thriller. It lasts for almost 14 minutes and has references to many horror films. Also a shortend version exists (3:21).
Thriller has lots of covers by artists of various genres, from philarmonic orchestra to industrial metal.
