Stubbs the cat

A cat named Stubbs became the "mayor" of the town of Talkeetna in Alaska. In 1997, the residents of the town, tired of political games, jokingly proposed electing a cat as mayor. Stubbs, who had no official status, became a popular figure and a symbol of the town. He "ruled" the town for over 20 years, attracting tourists and receiving guests in his office at a local bar. Although Stubbs stepped down from his "mayoral" position in 2017, he remained a beloved figure for the residents and tourists in Talkeetna.

Rico the dog
