What is the difference between a programmer and a coder?

You hear these terms a lot, but the question is are they really the same?

Programmers remain specific to making programs Codees are more general, making any sort of code.

@Blade of Justice.. This is what I believed until I researched on some major responsibilities for both of the positions. But the reality is, a coder is specified with a specific goal to achieve. Whereas, a programmer must be creative and imaginative, and should have the ability to come up with the solutions to upcoming challenges while writing the code. A programmer can be a coder but a coder may not be a programmer.
