Advancing in C++...

Question

I now wish to expand my C++ knowledge by learning more of what I can do with it.

I tried learning algorithms, but I am still not able to apply them in real life problems...

My codes are weak at solving problems, and instead of approaching the question in a systematic manner, I tend to just make things messy. These sometimes solve problems, sometimes don't.

How can I improve myself? I tried participating in competitions, but wasn't fast enough...

I have studied basics of linked lists, and have implemented stacks and queues using the same in my class.

What I still don't know is how to implement those in solving real life problems...

I wish to learn more. Can you help me by providing some websites where I can find information? Thank You...

I'm learning about DIRECTX development. Found a really helpful site that is getting me started with it, should be pretty easy if you don't have much experience too.
