Hello I'll give you a short lesson about presentation.

At first you should think about a good structure of your website. At first maybe a big heading with an image. Like a logo.

Choose one main color like blue, red or green. So your website looks better.

Don't use too much different colors. Maybe the user become a shock by so many colors.

Use animations to make your website interesting. But take care of the colors!

You can use every font you like but do not use "Comic Sans". It is a world hated font and shouldn't be used.

Your topic is the most important thing. The design mustn't overlay the full webpage.

Content is the key. However you should spend time on social media. When I was The Movie Frog on twitter as my first move. It was Oscar time so I posted tweets about each contender to put a little bit of meat on the bone. After that, I mostly posted links to my website. Aftet I hit 250 followers, I no longer had to farm for new ones.
