"Why isn't plain English a coding language", do you mean? I've heard of tools that can convert pseudocode into programming code, but most of the results are sloppy and don't perform well. Plus, some statements in code are hard to explain in plain language. And everyone writes differently, the compiler would need to be calibrated for someone's individual writing style.

ruby tries its best to be like english. and ruby is slow. the machine has different languages that follow rules called syntax (or grammar) just like us. Its like learning a new language like spanish or something... its not english so dont expected to be
