Does it reflect badly on a new learner who engages in many challenges but loses the majority of them?

I learn better by the challenges because it helps me see where I need improvement but it also means I lose most of them Am I seen as a poor beginner by those who have experience to the degree that they feel I am just a easy xp target? Or do most ppl see failing forwards as progress?

No one will judge you in base to your XPs, but if you have many loses maybe you will be an XP target from many of us. Don't worry about it, you can always decline challenges, it is strategy, you could challenge just low level users to get XP while gaining knowledges. Or... try the Quiz Factory, another great solution to improve your skills. Some of my favourite coders have many loses, challenges are good to keep fresh your mind with matemathical/logical quizzes, but to improve your real skills you should code. :)
