no, actually <head> is a part of the html division, i mean, the browser uses it to know what to consider when load the page, u should use <title>my first page </title> to make sure your site will load correct in any browser

NO , Since , HTML doesn't show errors and most browsers are smart , your code will work but it shouldn't be done .
