A few years ago C++ program was used to detect the plugging in of earphones into the audio jack. Now, Visual C++ is mostly used for developing high end applications. Sometimes C++ resource files are embedded in Android apps for extending the features!

i think you should learn c++ desktop applications rather learning logical or structural programming of c++

C++ is not good for desktop applications. Java and C# are far better in that category
