what is the differnce between CSS and HTML

imagine a house, the html are the bricks and the skeleton of the house and css are the color you choose to paint it.
in other words: html is basic structure and css is the style you give to it, they're need each other to make good Web site, but there is no obligation rule to use css, you can make a good functional Website with html, but with ugly style :)
