How much do we care about the correctness and quality of our answers here in this app?

Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks of my activity here, I've seen some cases which were answered poorly or even misleading. I know we are not in Stack overflow, but the question is how much do we responsible for our words to some novices who wants to get some value out of here?

Some people also like bad answers from other people, just because they are friends. It's very unhelpful and misleads the whole use of the like button.

The quality of answers usually correspond to the quality of the question itself. Lana has made a very good thread (currently sticked as featured post) as to why some questions may not receive the best answers, and how to improve on this situation. https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/333866/?ref=app

You're right, we are not at stackoverflow (see Babak's post) but also not on facebook (or whatever): the upvote button here does not have the same meaning as facebook's like button. I think some novices just are not aware of this fact. Another issue is, that there are code snippets posted (as answers!), that obviously have never been tested. That is a pity, because it is so easy to test it directly here in the code playground of this App, before posting. Maybe a tutorial on how to use the Q&A would be useful ;-)

it is no big deal because mainly answers here just act like reference you can still use google for everything. here we can only get some reference about what we want. and after all there are also tons of people from the community who can help.
