Does having a lot of customers on your site at the same time affect bandwidth differently than if was spread out through month?

As far as bandwidth goes: Is having — for example 10000 visitors on your site at the same time the same as having 10,000 visitors through out a month? Would them being on the site and requesting data at the same time affect the server differently than if those users were spread out through a month?

Bandwidth is a measure of maximum amount of data that can be transmitted over a time period. A shorter time period means higher traffic. If it's more then the bandwidth, then you will have a congestion or even worse, dropped packages. I am guessing that your host have limitations on bandwidth usage. The short answer is, 10000 visitors at the same time will use more of the bandwidth then 10000 visitors accumulated over a month.
