What should i choose as a carrier web site development or software in india???

Currently I am doing diploma in Computer Science. I love programming but i also found website development pretty cool so i am confused what to choose as a better carrier option in India . Web development or programming???

Nowadays, we don't do traditional desktop software a lot now. We do the software for Servers (Web Apps / Web Services) and Mobile. So my advice is learn any server side programming languages and mobile development languages. I got the same thought as you 7 years ago but soon I realize the market and go with the market.
