First go-to simple programming books like let us C,let us C++,programmers pearl,Java the complete reference.Read all about history, syntax, symantics, working of a language. Then I will suggest you to keep any book aside take your laptop and then code code and code.Work on logic.Once you have strong basics and logic developed you can go for professional programming books like coders at work, pragmatic programmers, the mythical man mouth, code complete 2 these all are very good books. All the best! #livecodelovecode

you can go for udacity.com and w3school.com. they will provide proper way to learn coding. As per you likes reading, you will like them pretty much. your experience with this sites will be way better than any book. I'm saying because i did learned this way only.
