Can java be used for artificial intelligence like implementing machine learning techniques or do deep learning? If so, how?

Since I'm learning java to build my own android application, I was wondering if it is possible to make chat bots or AI related stuffs that I can add on my application. I'm using android studio.

I will be shocked out of my pants if somehow, somewhere, there was not a Java deep learning library or at least neural networks. That would be like starbucks not having carmel.
