How similar is C# to Java ?

Well Java is based on multiple previous languages, mainly the "C" languages; c, c++, c# etc. Java is a magical language that unlike other languages of the past, it keeps on being updated for years to come. Both of them share general syntax (They both have the same programming "grammar",) support distributed code for multiple platforms. The real question is how different are they?

@Esic, Java is not based on c#. C# is younger than Java.

They have a lot of similarities. The main difference is that C# is used for applications etc on .NET Framework. Java is used by far more widely
