Of course. I use Windows 7 and Linux Mint 18. Just google "how to install linux with windows". Here is one of those tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBD4KqH5CT8

Yes. You could have different partitions on your hard disk, use an usb device with another operating system or simply a virtual machine.

Ubuntu has a friendly test mode that allows you to try the OS from the Live DVD before you decide to install it. https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop you can install it keeping windows and you'll be prompted on start up which OS to load.
