hello, I'm new to the whole programming thing. I was curious to know which programs would be best for wanting to get into database and statistics stuff? any advice is greatly appreciated

SQL or "structured query language" is the language of database and getting skilled in writing complex queries and extract the correct data out of db is essential for what you want to do.

SQL for knowing database language, and whatever programming language you want/prefer to handle user interface with it...

PHP, MySql, MongoDb, Python, Ruby and Rails , AngularJS : all the languages important for back-end web development
