Why Linux based Operating Systems are better for programming ?

I read that systems like fedora & Ubuntu and Many Linux Distros better for prgramming then Windows.Why ?

in my opinion, they work lightly. convenient for the developer. unauthorized files cannot be modified and no license purchase is required.

The main reason is surely that Linux and the others *nix were intended for programmers, since they are descendants of the UNIX operating system. Thus, their community is made of a great number of programmers, who develop a lot of softwares for themselves (so for Linux), and they develop GNU/Linux in a way that fit their needs.
