I would suggest you start with unity 3d game engine. It has three versions one is a free version which is best for beginners and for indie game developers second is the pro version which is best if you are doing something big or making a game and want to publish on play store and want to include adds.pro version basically gives you some additional features and the third version is the industrial version which is best if you have a game company and make some real-world games and you have a large team which is working on your game idea. basically, you can customize the unity game engine if you are in industrial versions. I would suggest you start with the free version if you are a beginner and it also provides you with free assets for your game.you can use visual studio code with it for programming your game.

Use Unity Engine or Unreal Engine also you can design or make a game in Blender with python, any way just tell me exactly what language you know and if I know some game engine I will advice you, the easiest engine for develope is Unity also has a free version, you can program in three language C Sharp, Javascript and Boo Script, I strongly recommend you to use that there is a lot of tutorials over the internet about how to make a game there... if you have some doubts about that topic don't be shy to ask..

Maninder $ingh N4b3ts3 I know C++ what I would say to be pretty well. I've heard things of Unreal Engine being more difficult though. I'm looking into this one called Godot Game Engine at the moment.
