HTML is good but it is not programming language.HTML is mark up language(Hyper Text Markup Language).So as per your question HTML will not count.
So i would suggest you to learn PYTHON first because python syntax is simple and pretty easy.
As it will be your first programming language u dont need to focus more on your syntax error and you can focus on your logic.
