Don't confuse HTML 5 as new , it's a living standard. All HTML tags ( elements) of previous HTML versions are supported in HTML 5. All modern web browsers like Safari, Mozilla, Chrome follow HTML 5 standards while displaying a web page. Think of it like, u can perform exercise on your own but it will be good if u do exercises in guidance of professionals. Hope this helps:-)

Not all tags from previous HTML versions are supported in HTML5 (the latest version of HTML). It's recommended not to use them as they may stop working (if they do now) in the near future and break your code.
