I'm curious what the comments are for? Is it like a note to self or what? 🤔

nope it's a self reminder to all source code viewers what actually you have written in it...... don't Brag too much of it.... It looks more of a hackers stimulation if you use too much comments

You got it, notes to self, and for other developers who might read your code. You can also 'comment out' code as part of your testing process, using the comments to sort of turn on/off the code, helps to find bugs or try out new code

Comments are used as a note for your code , for example if you write a block of code and you came a month later you probably won’t remember what you wrote so you can leave a comment that describe what that block do.

The piece of code you are sure probably you don't need on that page but you can not delete it yet because it will be useful in the near future and ctrl + c/v is you handy tool you comment it out so that it won't mess with you output maybe because you are lazy to save it in a different file. Laziness is also why we create comments...
