So working from a command prompt or terminal is unavoidable?

At first I thought maybe it was a skill reserved for system admins, or Powershell users and the like, but it's surfacing in tutorials for everything I'm trying to learn. Question is, how often does the average developer work from a command line vs managing code inside an IDE 🤷‍♂️

Rarely, but depends on the job. I see java / backend and databases in tags - none of this require any terminal work.

Appreciate the feedback HNNX 🐿 but I'm literally on a site now, trying to learn about Java and databases, while being instructed to use command line prompts to execute code 🤷‍♂️ https://www.javaworld.com/article/3388036/what-is-jdbc-introduction-to-java-database-connectivity.html There are multiple courses on LinkedIn Learning that push using command lines and plain text files when working with Java I ask because I've been avoiding the skill set as archaic or for experienced programmers but starting to feel like putting it off is circling back to bite me 🤦‍♂️
