I have to disagree with ~ swim ~ here: If you 1.) understand something and 2.) repeat it with a good plan and 3.) concentrate, you will definitely remember it, *even if you don't care at all*! (But liking what you do certainly helps actually doing steps 1 to 3.) This is what (besides writing code) I do: https://code.sololearn.com/W4P13u4XCmf9/?ref=app https://code.sololearn.com/cL3QVCSUn0bp/?ref=app

Swim, try what I explained. Choose a topic *that totally bores you*, use my method and see if you forget. You might be surprised. (Again: Caring about what you do is even better.)

Yeah, ~ swim ~, but cause and effect are somehow unclear in your story. The reason that you didn't learn these things isn't that you didn't care, but that you stopped doing it. Sometimes your life forces you to do something boring. It is not a good place to be in. And then you have to do it, right? And if you do, what I describe, you don't like it, but you do it like you brush your teeth, then you will grow.

The problem is that many don't know how to use that 'machine'. And then they end up thinking they got a bad memory and post a question here in q&a. But usually you just don't know when and how to repeat, and then you forget. And that's not necessary, because you *can* control it and ensure, that you will remember.
