What is the best way to get an entry level Software Development job?

I am self taught, but I can't seem to find any entry level jobs. How would you go about getting into this field of work?

Created a LinkedIn and Github if you don't already have them. Complete courses that grant you certifications (ie SoloLearn or Udemy, etc...) and follow along pushing the code from the courses to your Github and posting the certifications to your LinkedIn.

Commit to open source projects, attend Hackathons, and essentially build up a resume of code on your Github account that proves your ability to produce elegant code and solve problems.
