Jamie I agree that it sounds and looks a little bit suspicious. I actually checked with SoloLearn concerning one of my codes and their reply was something like: No problem. Nice code! And just now one of my codes which is a little bit like a hack was posted by SoloLearn... 😉 https://www.sololearn.com/post/37767/?ref=app

You'll probably have to "hack" into it somehow.... 😉

Use AJAX to fetch data from the CORS Anywhere API, with the URL of https://cors-anywhere.herokuapp.com/URL_here. This will return all the code that makes up a webpage, and you can search through it to find the data that you need.

N00B You are this close. You can really push it just a little further, but it looks like you have the sense not to. Coincidence? I don't think so. The reason why crawling is against the ToS, is solely because the administrators say so, and they, in no circumstances, are obliged to give any explanation to you, out of every possible user. I'm here to make sure that you don't touch the water, if there's a sign which says you can't. Still, I recommend you try to touch it. I can show you how "just the things I need to do" can coincide with "anything I want".

N00B um you know that the mods aren't associated with creating the SoloLearn platform right? You writing this here is useless. You can always mail this to SoloLearn. And yeah, hanging a sign infront of a swimming pool works 99% of the time. People aren't (well most of them) mad to jump in water even after reading the sign. They know there must be a good reason. What they WILL do is ask the owner or the authority for permission. I hope you can relate.

Jamie Yes, and for that i have stopped my user script development for make SL web a few better. Opposited to Modi i have not received permissions for make such user js script (though they have not deny permissions) and this is bad... I admit to have reversed part of SL app, in past, for understand how SL work and for make it on SL web, but i repeat, i stopped all after some days because it was violating the rules. Beside that, i hope that SL make clear that it want do with Web version development because now, its VERY ORRIBLE confronted with the App version

I decided to give them a second chance. Maybe it's not so bad. Just because you're a moderator doesn't mean you can do anything. Arbitrariness. Double Standards. The mods have improved lately. Coincidence? I don't think so. Everything is prohibited. Welcome to the year 2018. Why is crawling against the ToS? It's just automated accessing of information. If you're afraid of hackers, get someone who knows how to protect yourself from them. It's like hanging a sign in a swimming pool. Touching the water is forbidden. Since I don't want to start a war here, I wish you all a nice day.

Wow, Scraping is now considered as harmful. In this society, we've all become wimps. If you can't handle your security, maybe making an App like Sololearn isn't the best idea. "Look, we have terms of use. This sounds so legal and now everyone has to fear that we will take legal action." Like the people who have an antivirus installed thinking they can't be hacked now.
