Why is C++ usually the first programming language to be taught to new developers at schools?

Does somebody know why you first learn C++ when you are starting to code.

I had a paragraph typed, but what says it better than word of experience itself? May lack highlights to why it's a good choice for beginners, but the perks should be evident. Remember that there is no verdict stating that beginners should start off with something easy. https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/280672/?ref=app

I learnt Python for my first language in school. If what you say is true, probably that group of schools you knows are probably oddballs.
