Is php good and will benefit me if i learn it?

everything you learn will benefit you sooner or later. If you get into server side scripting php could benefit.

I couldn't agree more with @seamiki. PHP is very common - so common on the Internet that they call servers with it a 'LAMP stack' (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP).

If your goal is web development, it's probably worthwhile to learn.

Your choice depends on your goals. At first define your goals, after this make roadmap. PHP, Python or others, all of they very good. What will do with them depends from you and your practice :)
