Python IDEs

as my next language i want to learn how to code in python. why python? I heard it makes machine learning and robotics easier than with c#(the only lang i know). I have read a bit on the web and the most populars seemed to be: PyCharm, Visual Studio+python tools and Processing+Python mode. I can already exclude PyCharm, as you can't build remote controlled stuff with the community edition. Can i build remote controlled stuff with the other 2 free edition/community ides? Which one is the best? Which is the "console application" equivelent for python?
