How to add YouTube video to the web page

i tried opening YouTube in browser and copying the link but it was not in .mp4 (or any other video) format

i had to download it, upload it on Dropbox and then use it.

is there a better way to do it?

You can't directly add YouTube videos that way.
Get the embed code of the video use it in your webpage.
