Web development cannot avoid html/css learning, and probably some JS... if you plan to only be a back-end web deveopers without handling front-end: in a team, you could have people dedicated to front-end while others focuses on server-side scripting related to databases; but knowing at least basics of html/css would help you to understand the full-stack web development to better use it ^^
