What is easier to get a job with? Python or JavaScript?
Which of these languages are more in demand from an employment standpoint in the USA?

Imagine what happens if you come with a python under your arms and apply for a job....
at the moment webprogramming has a high demand.
python is leading in ai but it is not yet in managers mind.
so javacript seems to be the favorite

I'm not from USA and in fact the market here is different, but most of the companies at this moment are quite interested in Web technologies
I have read more than 200 job offers asking for knowledge in Angularjs, React, Node.js, PHP, Laravel, Symfony, JS, JQuery and Bootstrap

I have a mathematics background and so far in all my interviews they seem more interested in python than JavaScript

Also, correlation does not imply causation. Just cause people are doing well with python, doesn't mean python makes you a better programmer. Maybe java is more widely used by beginners.
I would choose a scripting language. It tends to be easier, since there's less overhead you have to remember. Between python and js, I'd pick python since it's a tad more powerful in my opinion. List comprehensions are absurd.
