Interactive, Which do you prefer?

Question

I have been preprogramming Wordpress Themes for some time now(granted they are basic themes). I'm always looking for ways to improve my knowledge/productivity. I had a client request a Interactive webpage, wanting it to be as "futuristic" as possible. So I have been studying, only to conclude one hard decision... PHP or JavaScript for my "interactive" script handling for my HTML page?

BTW - Hello!! This is my first post on SoloLearn so please work with me, if I don't make sense please explain how. :)

For seamlessly interactive, you should use Javascript whenever you could.
Wordpress has Javascript plugin that allow Javascript codes to run from wp pages.

php is a backend language, and it sounds more like a frontend job... so JavaScript's your tool in this case
