Java is more OOP and Python is more diverse. Not saying Python is better it is just not selective to a type.
Java is for android it is like a simpler C++ in a way.
Java is declining a little bit ,but I'm not saying it's going anywhere anytime soon.
Java is used in a lot of things ,but it is not like JavaScript which is everywhere.
Java is a good language to learn right now it's in high demand.

Python is used in most neural nets and data science.
Python is one of the most readable language and is simple to learn.
Python is easy to learn but not saying it is simple it has power of any other programming language.
Python is also in high demand but is in more demand than java
