I'm not sure what you mean by the phrase "when in the derivation I am navigating to the abbreviation". It sounds like you are might be clicking the text in the <abbr> tag and expecting it to show the value from the title attribute. Is that correct?

If so, by default, this is not how the <abbr> tag works. If you hover your mouse over the tag, it will show the title attribute value in a small pop up called a tooltip. That said, the purpose for this tag is to benefit search engines and translations systems.

If you would like for this to show the full title by clicking on it, you would need to use JavaScript to make that happen.
