iOS iPad - iOS 11.1 - beta sololearn - split view not working

Question

I am using the current beta of sololearn on an iPad Pro 10.5 inch. I am trying to split view with the notes app. I can split view the notes app with other apps such as photos and safari, but it won’t let me split view with sololearn. The slide over functionality works fine. But this covers up part of the sololearn app, which hides info I need access to.

I am running. iOS 11.1
