Am I too confident or too ambitious?

I'm 42 years old and I've decided to become a programmer. Next month, I'm starting with one-year education at the IT Academy in Java Developement. I have no expirience in programming, but I have a great desire to learn it. Some say that I'm a little bit late with this, but I don't, really, agree with them and I think that I can become a good developer. My questions are. Am I too confident, in my abilitys, or I'm too ambitius? Am I, really, too late?

If you understand, that you can, you have desire, you must try it. Good luck:) It's never late to learn.

Nowdays with sooo much information around, actually you never stop learning. You can learn anything you want. I just want to mention that the path you chose requires many hours in front of pc. If this is not goin to help you advance in your current job and if you have a family, this is really hard to achive. Passion is not enough in this case..
