Look at the guys in this business and their skills, ask yourself can you compete.
Its more just like a bonus to the overall superb IT knowledge, also you have to notice that almost every whitehat works i.e. as sysadmin/tester/coder at his main job(s).I think its not so good to aim at it, lot more steady IT jobs with better $ are around.
