safer alternative is to copy the files in share >nmap folder
with names 'nmap-mac-prefixes' to 'nmap-services' (7 files) to /etc directory..and change permissions to 755....and then run nmap os detection..
OR
Follow this tutorial with your own risk...
but everything should turn out well if u follow all instructions carefully.....

hey guys .. so I followed this tutorial https://secwiki.org/w/Nmap/Android but my phone is rooted.
I need help using the extracted files from sdcard/opt/Nmap on my jackpal terminal. I copied the files from the Nmap/bin to data/data/jackpal.androidterm/nmap
but I still cant use it on my terminal, what seems to be the problem?

check the permissions of the binaries....use ES file explorer to change it...

@Martin taylor thats my problem, I dont know the path since im rooted. the non-root was at "data/data/jackp... " . when I execute $ PATH
"sh: /sbin: /vendor/bin: /system/sbin: /system/bin: /system/xbin :not found "

so "echo $PATH" returns
"sbin:/vendor/bin:/system/sbin:/system/bin:/system/xbin:/"
so is it possible to add programs to the environment path so as to execute?

I was thinking of getting the compiled version. tho its not preferred for a start I just wanted to see how far I can go with it.
and with the installation instructions ive got it doesnt seem that complicated. although I might be back with more questions :D

but its only available for 4.4/5.0 I think and above

Great,I got a bash script online and managed to install it just fine although not the one I intended to install first tho. ill look into that later.
Now my difficulty is in using nmap
"nmap -A (os detection) scanme.nmap.org"
I get an err "os scan cannot nmap-os-db file" and then points to some directory it should be.since I used a bash script I dont know where to get that file.. whoooooo !!
