Which game engine should I use to make my first game?

Hello, I'm in 10th grade and I would like to start making games and since there are a lot of choices when it comes to game engines I was wondering which one to use and in tern which programming language to learn, keeping in mind that I have already learnt a bit of java from school

if you want to seriously make good games you can use unity you need to learn c# but since you already learnt java that would not be very hard. other good option if you are comfortable with java is using jmonkeyengine. It is not as advance as unity but you can a least make games then later you could migrate to other engines as you would already know basic concepts of game making.
