How to think visually?

I know the css and html, but I lack visual thinking - my projects are dull and simple. Any ideas?

Well html doesn't have very complicating things.. you can use javascript or also use a database so you can import export values with php.. using those two you can create a more complicated project..

what I do is try to vision a theme and then go for that theme. I usually end up with something completely different from what I started with

I don't know how to project someting nice rather than have a problem doing it.

well, in my opinion, "fake it, till you make it", initially i always kept a design in my mind and then tries to transform it into something of my own.
you can think of it as a tool of inspiration.
And when i developed that visualising ability, to imagine according to the parameters provided to me, i don't need to keep those dummy design as a starting point for my creation now.
