If it should happen, which I kinda doubt; then it means we will have no other choice but to adapt. Maybe change of career direction or whatever, the point is, life must go on.

Like economy principle, price escalate where demand is greater than supply. Where there are more engineers than what industry needed, you can already guess what it means : )
