Am I just stupid?

Hello! I started with coding at age of 35 and I got totally excited about it. Itā€™s day 10 since I start and Iā€™m coding my first small programs and Iā€™m very happy about it. My question is: I got stuck on lists and functions. Some things I understand but mostly itā€™s just mess in my head and I feel like I totally donā€™t understand. Do you think that I still should try? Is there a chance that one day Iā€™ll be good? Or if Iā€™m getting stuck so early it means Iā€™ll be never good because itā€™s just basic logic? Thx

You're 35, you should know that many of the things you are best at, took time, dedication and practise. Keep at it if you enjoy it.

It's pretty normal to get stuck sooner or later. Whether you become a good coder doesn't depend on when or on which topic you get stuck, but on how you deal with it. Use different sources: Books, videos, blogs, other codes, etc. This increases the likelihood that you will find an explanation that you understand. Ask lots of questions. Practice a lot. And otherwise, always be nice to yourself. There is no point in wondering if you are too stupid. Everyone is different and everyone learns differently. Some need more time, some need more examples or more explanations.... Happy coding! šŸ™‚
