Best way to understand Java?

Question

I am 15 Years old. I've been learning Java for a year because I'm going to an IT school and I'm interested in it too, but I find it very difficult to understand it and to write code. My teacher isn't a really good help because he expects us to know it already from the start. Do you have any recommendations for practice? or how to get better?
Btw I am from Austria so my english isn't that good.

Best qay to understand java is to learn it ....
There isnt anything magical that i will tell you and you will become a badass coder from next day ...
