I am not very sure of the pixel part myself but would explain to the limited knowledge I have. A pixel basically consists of a single or a combination of different colors. 1 bit which could have 2 values as either 0 or 1 can display 2 colors. So 8 bits at max can display 256 different colors. So as the resolution of the pixel increases you might have more number of bits doing the job.

Yeah thanks I wanted this only It can display 256 different colors because of 2^8=256 right?
