Depends what you want to do web development will have you developing webpage, a lot of frontend work involving UI design, app development has more focus on backend operations, building systems that do things and working with APIs. If you still aren't sure I usually try a bit of both to see which I prefer, which is how I learned web design is interesting but it isnt for me, as I get irrationally angry being instructed to make bad UI design choices

Just from a different perspective ya. Share with you my experience, doing web require less hardware performance requirements. If u have a bad pc to run an Android emulator + Android Studio or so, u will really waiting long time for things to work out for mobile development. But indeed mobile development is fun, u can experience with gestures and use mobile features such as camera, GPS, motion sensors. On the other hand, web development is easier to troubleshoot in browser. The changes may take place real time, unless u are using some compile-first framework. Both require you to work out responsive UI, because both can run in devices of differ screen sizes. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
