Web programming, what better?

Question

I have a little personal web for my work, have a lot of similar pages and I was using php to do html and include (like header for example, one php and include on all files). Now I learned react (javascript)... Which is better?
I'm afraid because JavaScript load slow than php or html, worth?

Well, Vanilla JavaScript is faster, but it's ok to use one library.
