Cheating in Challenges

I have observed that quite a few challengers get banned for what Sololearn sees as "Suspicious Activity in the Play Section". But seeing that label pasted on some Sololearners who've had a good reputation might seem a little weird. I don't blame the Sololearn dev team or the moderators, but maybe, I am just wondering what procedure is used to determine if someone is not following the Fair Play Policy. In addition, what are all the possibilities that could count as "Suspicious Activity in the Play Section"? As far as I have known, creating fake accounts for the sole purpose of challenge wins and multiple people playing under the same account are the only offences that I know of. Please inform me if this question is off-topic so that I can delete this myself. Otherwise I would like to hear from others, particularly the moderators who handle such cases usually. Thank you!

Prometheus 🇸🇬 didn't you get temporarily banned once? What did they suspect that you did and how did you convince them that you did not cheat?

Good for you Prometheus 🇸🇬! It seems that this App helps people to mature as individuals as well 😊.

Sonic I have prior experience and I know that you know. The thing is that if I apply the same things with people like Basel and Arb who are currently banned or were previously banned it makes no sense. Also Sonic yes I was banned for suspicion for cheating in the play section twice, but I think I just gave a request to unban me. The situation was due to me exploiting 2 different newbie accounts (who I never even control) by storming them repeatedly and letting them lose so that I could gain XP. In that case it looked really clear at how I was constantly winning and that is okay for suspicion. Now that I am more mature I respect their decision.

My Q&A response tone has also shifted, from that of a playful kid to more of someone who intends to seriously bring across a point. I still show the maturity that I perceive is standard for my age at some instances.

Prometheus 🇸🇬, if you expect foul play, please make the right choice and bring it to someone's attention. I looked at their account and their account is 4 days old and level 12 already. My account is level 10 and I had this account for over a year.

Michael B. I see what you mean. This question, however, is about the inverse, where I don't suspect foul play.

Serena Yvonne Thanks for the advice! It would have helped me 2 years ago. Nowadays even newer challengers are getting better at challenges. Take a look at VIRAT KOHLI who joined just days ago and is now topping leaderboards already.

Prometheus 🇸🇬 some of these "new challengers" are actually experienced people only now knowing the app

I can only speculate what they might look at. If they notice you playing against the same user all the time whom loses every time, is wrong on all questions, and you are right on all of them (5 for you, 0 for them). It would be normal that they would suspect something. I think if someone boosts up their stats with the intent to just be above everyone else is losing the concept of this site. There is a lot of repeat questions and all you are doing is winning based on memory and not on knowledge.

Not sure though, maybe people are still using dual accounts to "put off the extra pressure" or something like that... how very bothersome 😔 Why can't they just play fairly?! 👿

Prometheus 🇸🇬 cheating is cheating whenever it's done, one have to pay for that by any means now or in past And if it confirm they have done any offense and banned then it's all admins thing you should believe on that, how you can ask questions on that when the offender himself not stated anything. How you know that they never tried for epic or cheating, level doesn't decide anything, you don't know the legit of your own sentence. And if you want to reveal how sololearn find cheater, does they reveal their internal working, you are expecting much from the thread. If you want to know the method of detection, don't you feel it can help those who do cheating, and if this question is about internal working then email is the best way to interact with the developers if they concern with your questions and want to give the answer then they will reply, if reply not come you should know that your question has no weightage. This thread is getting much attention which should be given to some good programming question

Prometheus 🇸🇬 hi, Seems like you have feel bad for those users. I don't know about how it's worked but your are posting your concern for those users whom ban is weird for you. In that case I have some questions for you if you don't mind me asking as I'm not much aware 1) which user are fall under the suspension does they presented their views that they have falsely suspend from the platform without attempting any offense? I read in this thread about cheating for badges namely "epic" 2) Does after ban the badge is removed, if the badge is removed then you should know that that admins has checked with all possible ways which might be confidential If the badge is not removed and point is not deducted then it's possible that the user has not attempted any offense in that case who banned them in foul but is it happen till now? If all questions answer is no then I would say this thread is just waste as you are asking for those confidential information which they might want to hide so no cheating can be possible

DishaAhuja The thing is that they never even have tried for the epic badge or even if they do, they got it a long time ago. Certainly not a reason for them to cheat. Also I am interested in Sololearn's method to detect cheaters which clearly is different from mine.
